17 April 2010

Well, it is finally Spring and we have lots of catching up to do. Easter weekend was beautiful and we had the Clement family and Grannie and PaPa over.

The adults enjoying cocktails while the kids looked for eggs.

2010 Easter pose (it is a tradition to stand here every year and try to look happy).

Grannie enjoying the egg hunt (and a limoncello champagne cocktail).

Once again, Chloe hitting the monkey bars.

The Easter Egg hunt in the neighborhood.

Dining out with the Clement Crew and Grannie and PaPa. . always an adventure! We never need to leave the house for entertainment!

With Zachary learning how to ride his bike this Spring. . Chloe added a new skill. She loves the monkey bars (and don't try to stop her).

We had a visit this spring from Cousin Benjamin, Aunt Antsy and Aunt Jessica. Jessica signed up for the Austin Urban Challenge with Kim as her partner. .what a great way to explore a new city with an expert (Kim).

It is the thing to do in the Spring in Texas. .get a picture in the blue bonnets. However, they all grow on the side of highways, so watch out!

Showing the train off to Cousin Benjamin

Thanks to PaPa for building us cabinets and moving things around. . Zachary and Chloe can share the big chair to watch movies together (and see the TV from the breakfast room?).

Chloe's first experience bowling. .and she loved it!

Zachary was a pro. . . this was his second time!

Spring Break 2010. . our fist Stay-cation! We went to Galveston Island for the afternoon

Visited Moody Gardens

Watched Uncle Jim rope in the Houston rodeo. .and got a few rides on Po-Jo.

We were very proud of Uncle Jim. .congratulations!

The Friday before Spring Break started, a very creative neighbor of ours hosted a Scavenger Hunt with a St. Patrick's Day theme. The kids had a blast!

They were instructed to take a picture with their bodies in the shape of the first letter of their name. . therefore, a "C" is not too difficult. However, imagine a "Z"?

Then we decided to jointly create the first letter of our last name!

The hostess even brought Shrek Green cupcakes. . what a hit!

However, I must say. . the take home goody bag filled with Lucky Charms was a hit. Our kids were in HEAVEN!

One of Mommy's goals for Spring Break was to help Zachary learn how to ride his bike without training wheels. Little did Mommy know that he would learn in 15 minutes! He has ridden a Like-A-Bike for years and we think it is the best thing ever. Thanks also to my neighbor that encouraged me to teach Zachary how to stop first (imagine that being important!?!?).

Preparing for Chloe's May Dance Recital

Can you believe it snowed in Central Texas. . in February. Our family was given a Snowman Kit for Christmas while we lived in New York. Who would have thought we would use it in Texas?

We had a snowman contest with the kids on our block. . they all did a fabulous job!

It is quite shocking they did not cancel school. .but just imagine the delight when the kids got off the bus ready to play in it!
